Its been a while:
Its been a while since i enjoyed a good beer
Its been a while since i could always remember what day it was or how long i'd been somewhere
Its been a while since i took a shower(3 weeks to be exact...but don't worry i took one today)
Its been a while since i slept in a room with less than 10 other people in it
Its been a while since i went to bed before morning
Its been a while since i had a meal that i was truly happy after
Its been a while since i had a poop that wasn't the consistency of bread pudding
Its been a while since i had a truly intelligent conversation
...not really complaining just writing down a few things that i miss

Your sacrifices are many - we are appreciative for your service, Daniel. We've got you covered when you have time off! Beer, bed, food, shower, privacy, (you're on you own for poop). :)

I tried to leave a post on my iphone to impress you, but I wasn't set up with your website. So, I went through that procedure. I'm paying a serious price just to be able to say I'm proud of you! Plus, I loved your post's poetic prose. Grandma said I shouldn't read it at the dinner table to your young cousins here in SC - but I did and they loved it! She did too. Give us more. Brother...I wish I could have you over for a homecooked dinner and conversation topped off with a good Seattle microbrew, but since I can't do that for awhile yet, I will just tell you that I am so proud of you and so humbled by your sacrifices. I love you.
